Welcome To CI Test Labs

Fasteners are everywhere across numerous industries. Testing of fasteners is crucial to evaluate their properties, dimensional attributes, and to guarantee their safety and dependability. CI Test Labs offers an array of fastener testing services tailored to specific stipulated specifications.

Mechanical testing at CI Test Labs refers to a range of tests designed to ascertain the mechanical properties of materials. It assesses how a material reacts under various loading conditions. Mechanical testing is conducted to confirm that a material is appropriate for its intended use and to validate the efficacy of previous material processing methods.

Complete Mechanical Testing

Mechanical and physical testing encompasses the appropriate methods used to determine the physical, mechanical, and metallographic properties of materials, especially metals and alloys. This type of testing enables metallurgical laboratories, manufacturers, and other producers and consumers of metals and alloys to inspect and assess these materials for strength and quality, thereby ensuring their safety for intended applications.

Chemical Analysis

Chemical testing of metals encompasses a range from Aluminum to Zinc, including all elements in between. Metal analysis identifies the chemical composition of nearly any metal alloy, irrespective of its shape, size, or base material. With Optical Emission Spectrometers, we can quickly ascertain the chemical compositions without dissolving the sample. OES is utilized to determine the percentages of elements in an alloy sample, and the analysis can yield either quantitative or qualitative results.

Magnetic Particle Inspection

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method used to detect surface and just-below-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials like iron, nickel, cobalt, and their alloys. This process introduces a magnetic field into the item being tested. Magnetization can be achieved directly or indirectly. Direct magnetization happens when an electric current passes through the object, creating a magnetic field within the material. Indirect magnetization occurs when a magnetic field is applied from an external source without passing an electric current through the object. The magnetic lines of force run perpendicular to the direction of the electric current, which can be alternating current (AC) or a form of direct current (DC), such as rectified AC.

Metallography

Metallurgical testing examines the physical and chemical properties of metallic elements, their intermetallic compounds, and alloys. Metallurgy encompasses the science and technology involved in metal production and the engineering of metal components for consumer and manufacturer products.
